Phoenix Suns Rankings: Which Western Playoff Team To Root For?
You’ve probably read this or heard about this by now, but the Phoenix Suns will be participating in the 2015 NBA Playoffs in the same capacity that the rest of us will: from the comfort of the couch. But before we get to any of those exciting things (and the super-worrisome one), there’s still basketball to be played. Assuming you enjoy watching good basketball even with the Suns eliminated, the NBA playoffs represent a reprieve from, well, the last few months of Phoenix’s 2014-15 season.
Bearing that in mind, which Western Conference team most deserves your bandwagon support?
Today we’ll be ranking the eight playoff teams out West in order to make sense of which team you should be halfheartedly rooting for. We’ll only be looking out West, since there isn’t much reason to cheer for one team over another in the Eastern Conference (in relation to your Suns fandom).
Okay, so maybe cheering against the Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics — the two teams that denied the Suns their best shots at a championship — makes sense, but other than that, most our the world’s focus is out West anyway.
These rankings factor in past meetings with Phoenix, each team’s likelihood of actually winning it all and the general enjoyment that comes with watching each team play. Without further ado, here’s a look at the bandwagon power rankings to determine which team Suns supporters should hate the least!
Honorable Mention: Whoever plays the Cleveland Cavaliers, every round. For the contingent of Suns fans that wants Kevin Love, the only possible way he even considers leaving Cleveland for Phoenix is if the Cavs fall short of a title and he gets blamed for it.
