Tyler Ennis

New team: Milwaukee Bucks

Role with Bucks: Backup point guard, project/work in progress

Years in Phoenix: 1 (2014-15)

Comments: The Tyler Ennis experiment was too short, and he’d be perfect to have on the roster now, but the Bucks insisted he come in the deal that netted the Suns Brandon Knight. He’ll probably be an average starting point guard in the league at some point, but that’s about it. His playmaking ability is quite good though.

Isaiah Thomas

New team: Boston Celtics

Role with Celtics: Backup point guard, scoring off the bench

Years with Phoenix: 1 (2014-15)

Comments: Bringing in Thomas didn’t work. It could have, but the drive to get better is also what causes people to become entitled and strive for better. That’s what players should do, but that’s also why coaches and general managers are there to look at the bigger picture. He is a good player and will certainly help Boston potentially make the playoffs this season and going forward.

Goran Dragic

New team: Miami Heat

Role with Heat: Starting point guard, playmaker, co-star with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh

Years with Phoenix: 6 (2008-11) (2012-15)

Comments: Dragic was so good for so long for the Suns. Last year’s team he led was so surprising and awesome, but it will all be tarnished by how it ended. He was a fan favorite for so long and the face of the franchise following the Nash era (which were some pretty big shoes to fill). He’ll help the Heat now that LeBron James is gone, and for a bit after Luol Deng, Wade and Bosh retire. I didn’t include Zoran Dragic because he only played garbage time minutes.

The starting lineup of Suns players on other potential playoff teams for the 2014-15 season would look like this:

  • PG: Goran Dragic
  • SG: Joe Johnson/Vince Carter
  • SF: Shawn Marion
  • PF: Amar’e Stoudemire
  • C: Marcin Gortat
