On #WorldKindnessDay Thursday, Nov. 13, the Phoenix Suns broadcast gave shoutouts to “Collin for Kindness.”

AZ Family broadcasters Tom Leander and Tom Chambers (along with some arena staff) wore white T-shirts with the image of a bee and the word “kind” across the front, a message to “be kind.”

Suns guard Collin Gillespie is doing just that this season by giving back to the community of Suns fans in a variety of ways.

Through a combination of seat upgrades (moving fans in the upper deck of Mortgage Matchup Center to the lower level), meet-and-greets and more, Gillespie is endearing himself to the fan base through small acts of kindness.

“We were just trying to come up with something that I could do to give back,” Gillespie said. “Treat others how you like to be treated. … That’s kind of the foundation of it.”

Gillespie also made a point to give back to employees within the Suns organization who may otherwise be overlooked, saying that they do not go unnoticed "in our eyes."

Gillespie is in the midst of a breakout season with the Suns, averaging career highs in most statistical categories as he carves out a role as a key reserve guard off the bench.

Through the combination of his play on the court and community contributions off of it, Gillespie will no doubt become a fan favorite in the Valley.
