The release of the 2026-27 Phoenix Suns schedule means we are one step closer to the action returning in The Valley, and the scheduling Gods have given the team a great boost to start the season. The franchise plays seven games at home through the first half of November, which is an excellent opportunity to get some wins on the board and build momentum.
Suns have seven-game homestand in November to build momentum
Even better, most of these contests appear winnable on paper and could see the Suns depart on their first long road trip of the campaign considerably over .500.
Beginning on November 4, the Suns will welcome the Portland Trail Blazers. This is a game they should expect to win and takes on added importance after they were beaten by Portland in the Play-In Tournament last season.
Then it is matchups versus the Orlando Magic (we're saying win), Houston Rockets (not hard to get up for a game against Kevin Durant), and San Antonio Spurs (we'll take the L there even if the Suns beat them twice last season).
Next up are the LA Clippers (easy dub), Charlotte Hornets (or Phoenix East, as they should be called. Another win), and finally, the Los Angeles Lakers (an organization that is doing its best to make Luka Doncic walk the Damian Lillard path that Devin Booker appears to be on right now). Is it possible to go 6-1 during this stretch? Absolutely.
It gets better, as prior to this home stand, the Suns will have played only five games. The first is in Portland, while they will see the Golden State Warriors twice (one home, one away). The Denver Nuggets at home are always tough, while the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road are as hard as it gets.
Suns should be above .500 entering homestand
Taking the Nuggets and Thunder games out of the equation, the Suns could enter that home stretch 3-2. If we assume the best of those seven games in The Valley, it is not a stretch to say they may be 9-3 coming out of that run of games.
It would be an excellent position for them to be in as they then go on the road for five contests. Three of those also look winnable on paper (at Utah, New Orleans, and Sacramento) before we really get into the grind of the regular season.
This could have been a lot worse for the Suns and gives them an excellent platform to build on.
