You can be sure that both Zion Williamson and Ja Morant are two names that are going to be brought up a lot this offseason.
Both will at some point likely be linked to the Phoenix Suns as well, both because those players need a change of scenery and Devin Booker apparently still needs a co-star (you did your best Dillon Brooks).
Suns should want Morant over Williamson no matter what in this scenario
If the Suns had to choose between one of these two former All-Stars, and really they should be avoiding both but let's play this game because it is interesting to tease out, then Morant simply has to be the option.
Working backwards here and Williamson has never had a truly dominant season in the league since entering, although the brief peaks we saw were terrifying. The fit next to Booker is clunky, while Brooks currently occupies the role of beefy forward who can mix it up anyway.
The Canadian international would surely be getting shipped out in that scenario anyway, but tying the remainder of Booker's prime to a player who has had injury and weight issues is exactly what owner Mat Ishbia has said the franchise is trying to get away from. Enticing name, little end product to back it up.
Morant is interesting because he fills a clear position of need for the Suns at point guard. We have also seen contenders such as the Minnesota Timberwolves lack a true floor general and it has cost them in these playoffs. Morant is an obvious upgrade over what the Suns already have, plus it would mean moving Jalen Green on as well.
Jeff Teague says Timberwolves need to trade for Kyrie Irving or Ja Morant:

“They need another dynamic guard. Like, they double teaming, this is no bullsh*t y’all NBA players they double teaming motherfu*ker like you in high school at half court. Go get the ball out of his hands… pic.twitter.com/FwijOgs101
There are attitude issues with both players, while Morant's off the court antics are obvious cause for concern. But Booker has proven he can co-exist with everybody from Chris Paul to Kevin Durant, and Morant would be no different.
He would raise the floor of this group, while both the bigs and 3-point shooters currently on the roster would benefit with playing alongside him. Offensively he remains a blur even if he has had some injury issues himself, and his ability to score when the game slows down is clear for all to see.
It shouldn't be the deciding factor, but moving both on in future also gives Morant the edge. If Williamson leaves New Orleans and it doesn't work out, a Deandre Ayton like career is on the cards.
Morant on the other hand plays at a position that is somehow lacking compared to where the league was a decade ago, and teams will always talk themselves into an electric guard who can score.
If the Suns are going to lean one way on this, it has to be Morant.
