Those L.A. Clippers huh? Not content with stealing Chris Paul from under the noses of the Phoenix Suns this offseason, they have taken the frankly outrageous decision to cut the "Point God" from their roster midseason. Seemingly while they were on an Eastern Conference road trip.
Suns shouldn't give Chris Paul ending he deserves.
The logical conclusion for Paul now though is to surely finish his career in The Valley. If the Clippers are where he enjoyed the most long-term success, then it is Phoenix that brought the deepest run as they made it all the way to the NBA Finals.

Although they look like a match made in heaven, Jalen Green remains injured and Paul is still capable of doing a job off the bench, this is not a trip down memory lane that the Suns should entertain. They already have a style of play under head coach Jordan Ott which Paul would not fit into.
Particularly defensively, with players like Dillon Brooks and Collin Gillespie playing at a pace which Paul can no longer get to. The emergence of Gillespie is another reason why the franchise should steer clear of the 40-year-old.
He was the Suns' MVP of the first-quarter and rightly so, and adding Paul would mean taking some minutes away from him. Gillespie has also settled into life as a starter with the group, but that has meant that Jamaree Bouyea has stepped into the role that Gillespie vacated.
Even Jordan Goodwin has excelled in his role as the third-string floor general, and at this point in his career is a better option on both ends of the court that Paul. There was a way to make this work before the season began, but that was before fans totally bought into what this group could be.
Most expected the Suns to lose a ton of games and be near the bottom of the Western Conference, but right now they have a legitimate chance of making the playoffs. Giving Paul some run would not help them win games, it is younger and hungrier players like Gillespie and Goodwin who make that possible.
The only way this happens is if Devin Booker goes out of his way to get him on the roster. Considering he didn't appear to speak up when the front office actually had a chance to sign him, that doesn't look like happening. A sad end to a Hall of Fame career, but one the Suns should avoid as they continue being one of the surprise packages this season.
