The Phoenix Suns have done an amazing job of filling out their rotation with players who have exceeded expectations, and you would think there would be no downside to that.

But with so many guys deserving of more minutes, and even more importantly more money, the organization are going to have to make some tough choices on who is on their roster next season.

Suns will be forced to part ways with players who deserve to stay

Given what we know about this roster already, it is hard to see where Jordan Goodwin, Isaiah Livers and Jamaree Bouyea all fit into the equation.

It would be amazing to think any one of those three could be the next Collin Gillespie, who also has to get paid and will be taking up a roster spot, but they all won't get the same opportunity that the former two-way point guard did.

The Suns appear to love Goodwin as their backup floor general, but it is not even a guarantee they can bring him back either. The franchise having three rookies that they have to find more game time for.

Rasheer Fleming is beginning to take his chance, while there is still lottery pick Khaman Maluach and even Koby Brea to think about. But what if the Suns do something before the trade deadline?

If they move off Grayson Allen for example, whichever player(s) they bring back you would imagine will be getting added with the long-term in mind.

There is also Jalen Green to consider, whose roster spot is obviously secure but who has played less than two games this season. He will be taking up valuable minutes upon his return.

The real crunch comes however with the fact both Livers and Bouyea, for now the odd men out with the Suns likely only able to keep one of them next year, as both have shown they belong in Phoenix.

But they have also played so well that convincing either to play on a two-way deal seems unlikely, given they are sure to have interest from around the league.

This was an easier sell when Bouyea was joining his sixth team in four seasons, while Livers missed all of last year through injury. But with both healthy and contributing, they are going to want longer-term security.

Which the Suns won't be able to give everybody currently on their roster, which is a huge departure from where they were during the Kevin Durant era.

Back then they were in the second apron and struggled to fill out the end of their bench. They've quickly established that they can identify underappreciated talent, but with that comes its own problems as they will discover this offseason.
