As things stand right now in the West, the Suns would host the No. 7 vs. No. 8 play-in tournament game and would have two chances to win one game to claim a playoff berth.

Phoenix is also just one game back of New Orleans for the No. 6 seed and 1.5 games back of Dallas for the No. 5 seed. Landing there would guarantee the team a playoff spot without going through the play-in.

Of all of these teams (and Phoenix), two teams will have to miss the postseason. It seems like oddsmakers expect those squads to be among Golden State, Los Angeles, and Sacramento, but a lot can change over the final days of the 2023-24 regular season.
