Who stays, who goes: Phoenix Suns trade deadline edition
By Matt Escobar
Could go either way
Grayson Allen is the poster child for this group, as he’s the Suns' single best role player and trade chip this year. His play next to the stars has been superb, but he would also unlock a tier of trade candidates that the Suns wouldn't be able to acquire without him.
Drew Eubanks has reclaimed the backup center spot as he’s been soaking up essentially all those minutes lately. However, a defensive big is near the top of the Suns' wishlist next week.
If a trade materializes for one, Eubanks would probably be involved. If not, then they can't afford let him go, especially with how he's playing now.
For a time, it looked like Chimezie Metu was in the “unlikely to be traded" group. But Metu has been glued to the bench for the last two weeks, even with Bol out. Still, if the Suns target a guard or center at the expense of wing depth, Metu would be important to keep.
