3. Damion Lee
From an intriguing case to an open-and-shut one, and there is zero reason to think Damion Lee won't pick up his player option ahead of 2024-25. It just makes too much sense in all areas, starting with the fact he missed all of last season with a meniscus injury that required surgery.
It stands to reason then that there won't be a ton of franchises lining up to offer him more money and a longer-term deal to play elsewhere. What is more likely here is that Lee uses next season to put himself in the shop window, and potentially get a new deal elsewhere beyond that.
At 31-years-old, Lee can also be a positive veteran presence on younger teams around the league down the road. A former member of the Golden State Warriors as well, there is a wealth of information he could bring to a locker-room that needs older heads and steady voices to navigate the long journey that is the NBA's regular season.
Until then Lee is a nice spot to show what he can do, because the Suns don't have a ton of backcourt depth. Beal missed some time through injury last season - and had Lee been healthy himself - he would have taken a good portion of those minutes. He's not a point guard in the traditional sense, but he will slot into the rotation there. A dead cert to return, and fans will be happy that he is.
