Suns vs. Timberwolves NBA expert prediction and odds for Sunday, April 14 (Bet on Phoenix)
By Peter Dewey
There is a ton at stake on Sunday in the matchup between the Phoenix Suns and Minnesota Timberwolves, and the Wolves are favored at home.
Phoenix could earn the No. 6 seed in the West if the New Orleans Pelicans lose and it wins, and the Wolves are in play for the No. 1 seed in the West depending upon the result of the Oklahoma City Thunder-Dallas Mavericks matchup.
This season, the Suns are 2-0 against the Wolves, but can they pull off the season sweep to potentially avoid the play-in tournament?

Suns vs. Timberwolves key players to watch
Phoenix Suns
Kevin Durant: Durant has scored 20 or more points in 11 straight games, averaging 25.5 points per game over that stretch. The former league MVP had 22 points on 9-of-14 shooting in the last meeting between these teams.
Minnesota Timberwolves
Karl-Anthony Towns: After missing several weeks with a torn meniscus, Towns returned to the lineup on Friday night, playing nearly 28 minutes and scoring 11 points on 4-for-11 from the field. He also had eight assists and five boards. The Wolves are hoping he can find his All-Star form going forward.
Suns vs. Timberwolves prediction and pick
Both of these teams have a ton to play for, but I think Phoenix is being a little undervalued in this spot.
The Wolves have struggled as home favorites, going 14-20-2 against the spread while the Suns are 8-6 against the spread as road underdogs.
One could argue that the Suns have more to play for than the Wolves, as Minnesota is guaranteed a top-three seed in the West while Phoenix is attempting to avoid landing in the play-in.
After winning two games against the Wolves by double-digits, don’t be shocked if the Suns cover this number.
Pick: Suns +4.5 (-110)
