The Phoenix Suns closed the season strong, caped with a blowout win at Minnesota over the Timberwolves, setting up a playoff series against that same team.

The Suns have had the upside of a title contender all season, but have struggled to consistently maintain its level long enough to manifest it in a gaudy regular season record. However, with Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, and Bradley Beal fully healthy and an advantageous first-round matchup, oddsmakers are wise to the ceiling of the Suns.

Phoenix is listed at +1900 to win the NBA title this season, the same odds as its first-round opponent, Minnesota, who the team is ever so slightly favored against in the first round. Those odds are tied for the fifth-highest odds in the Western Conference as the Suns must play the Denver Nuggets earlier than some other teams like the Mavericks, Clippers, or Thunder, dropping the team further down the board.

However, Phoenix appears built for postseason basketball. The team has controlled the regular season series against Minnesota, winning all three games by double digits. While this first-round series is listed as a coin flip, it's acknowledged that the Suns have the power rating edge considering Minnesota has home court.

If the Suns get past Minnesota, a tough test against (likely) Denver is in the way, but its clear that the team has the respect of oddsmakers by its pricing in the futures market.
