Shooting guard: Devin Booker
Like Kevin Durant, Devin Booker is the other most clearly-solidified starter on this team. Operating as the undisputed face of the franchise, Book matched Durant's scoring average of 27.1 points per game for the season last year. It is obvious that he will be the dream choice for the team's starting shooting guard.
Many would be happy to see Booker back in his natural two-guard spot, given the experimentation that took place this past season. Beginning and ending the season without a true traditional point guard, the Suns were forced to try different approaches with one of the most commonly-used becoming "point Booker."
Of course, Devin is not a natural point guard. Like many stars in the NBA, he probably grew up playing point guard when he was very young, but that of course does not mean those skills translate to an NBA level. He was not anything resembling a disaster as Phoenix's primary ball-handler, but it was clearly an area the team was lacking during their disappointing campaign.
It is possible that putting Book back in a position to be a score-first player entirely would be a game-changer for this team. If he is allowed to get back to doing what he does best, the benefits could be huge for the Suns.
