KD chose the Suns just like he did the Warriors and the Nets. He lasted just three years in Golden State and just over three in Brooklyn. The future Hall of Famer wants to win. He is still elite, but can he do it in Phoenix?

There were rumors of frustration, but he is just over one year into his Suns' tenure. Does KD make it a long-term home? He has two years left on his contract and it is hard to see him sticking with this current core longer than that.

Suns trade Durant in 2025 offseason after he refuses extension

Phoenix cannot let him reach free agency. Durant turns 36 in September. The Suns cannot afford to give him a massive long-term deal either, but that will be the price to keep him. Even with the offer, KD likely declines because he wants another ring.

The Suns trade him next summer and work a new build around Devin Booker. It won’t be easy, but James Jones and the front office have done well maneuvering with limited assets. Trading Durant should get their stockpile up and give them a legitimate shot.

The Phoenix Suns face a crucial summer. There must be improvements on the floor next season or things could go sideways quickly. The pressure is on, so stay tuned to see how it all shakes out.
