Interior scoring
Beal has also helped the Suns slightly increase their points in the paint number. Even though their ranking is down one spot to 22nd in the league, their paint scoring is actually higher at 49 per game, up from 47.
Still, out of the three mentioned statistics, this is the one that probably won’t improve that much more. The Suns just aren’t built to be a high interior scoring team.
The commitment to playing smaller will only exacerbate those problems. It's hard to see them rising any higher than the below average ranking that they currently claim.
And that’s ok. This team can’t be elite at everything. Unlike taking more threes and playing faster, they don’t have the personnel to excel in this facet of the game. It's much more realistic for them to try and improve on the other areas. Once Beal is back and the new players get intergrated, they can set out to do that.
