Best NBA prop bets today for Timberwolves-Suns
- Anthony Edwards UNDER 32.5 points+rebounds
- Phoenix Suns 1st half team total UNDER 53.5 points
- Kevin Durant OVER 2.5 three-pointers
Anthony Edwards UNDER 32.5 points+rebounds
Hold your breath taking any Edwards’ under prop given the guard’s ability to take over any game and soar over any prop given his high usage rate. However, Edwards’ scoring prop for Friday of 27.5 points is 1.4 points higher than his season average and he hasn’t been shooting the ball well of late.
Edwards has shot 45% or less in seven consecutive games and he’ll face a Phoenix defense that is seventh in the NBA in effective field goal percentage. On the glass, Edwards has a tough matchup against a Phoenix defense that is seventh in the NBA in defensive rebounds per game.
Edwards has gone under his posted rebounding total (5.5) for Friday in four of the last five games. Combining those props makes for a solid bet in a matchup of two teams desperate for wins down the stretch.
Phoenix Suns first half team total UNDER 53.5 points
Speaking of two desperate teams, Minnesota still flexes its muscles the best on the defensive end of the floor and will try to set the tone early in this matchup with the Suns.
Phoenix is one of the best offenses in the NBA and is third in the league in first-half scoring. However, the explosive Suns actually score more on the road (1.3 points) in the first half than at home.
They’ll face a Minnesota defense that is No. 1 in the NBA in first-half scoring and overall the defenses should be able to make this game a slugfest throughout.
Kevin Durant OVER 2.5 three-pointers
Phoenix is 24th in the NBA in attempted 3-pointers per game (32.4) and Minnesota is one of the best defenses (No. 3) in the NBA against triples. So, why go over Durant’s total in this matchup?
For starters, Durant has eclipsed this number in five consecutive games, going 3-for-7 from downtown in Wednesday’s 122-101 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers. More importantly, Durant has shown his willingness to shoot from beyond the arc regardless of the defense in front of him.
Just four days ago against New Orleans, the No. 1 three-point defense in the NBA, Durant chucked up 11 three-point attempts. Though the Pelicans’ elite defense held him in check for the game, Durant still managed to sink a trio of triples and go over this number.
