Best NBA prop bets today for Magic vs. Suns (How to bet Kevin Durant with Beal back)
By Peter Dewey
The Phoenix Suns have their Big 3 back in action – and healthy – for the first extended stretch of the season heading into Sunday night’s matchup with the Orlando Magic.
There isn’t a ton that we can read into after the team’s blowout win over the Charlotte Hornets, but I’m hoping to use that information to place some winning prop bets on New Year’s Eve.
The Magic have surprised a lot of people in the East this season, so laying 5.5 points with the Suns may not be as easy as it seems.

Here’s how I plan to attack this matchup on Dec. 31:
Magic vs. Suns best NBA prop bets
- Jusuf Nurkic OVER 10.5 rebounds
- Kevin Durant OVER 32.5 points and assists
- Franz Wagner OVER 22.5 points
Jusuf Nurkic OVER 10.5 rebounds
Orlando is one of the better rebounding teams in the NBA, but this number is just too tempting for Suns center Jusuf Nurkic, who has cleared 10.5 rebounds in six of his last seven games.
On the season, Nurkic is averaging 10.4 rebounds per game, and he’s doing it on limited playing time.
The big man grabbed 10 boards in just 14 minutes two games ago – shortened due to foul trouble – and he’s averaging 14.6 boards in just 27.9 minutes per game over this seven-game stretch.
I love this prop for him against Goga Bitadze and Wendell Carter Jr.
Kevin Durant OVER 32.5 points and assists
Over the last two games, Kevin Durant has taken on a huge playmaking role, posting 16 and 11 assists in those matchups.
While it is foolish to expect that again when he takes on Orlando, I do love Durant’s assists and points prop in this matchup.
KD is averaging 29.8 points per game, yet his prop has been knocked down to 25.5 after he scored just 21 in the last game for Phoenix with Beal back.
On the season, Durant has OVER 32.5 points and assists in 19 of his 27 games. He’s averaging 6.1 dimes per game, so it’s not out of the question that he pushes five or more against Orlando.
Franz Wagner OVER 22.5 points
Magic forward Franz Wagner is on a heater right now, scoring at least 24 points in five straight games.
He’s moved his season’s average to 21.0 points per game, and now he gets to take on a Suns team that ranks 16th in the league in opponent points per game.
I will take a shot on the young Magic forward to keep up his hot shooting, especially since he’s taken at least 14 shots in every game since Nov. 11.
Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
