5 players the Suns should sign on minimum deals this summer

The Phoenix Suns are going to have to get the most out of minimum contracts again this summer, and these five players would be excellent additions.

2. Mike Muscala

The reason Mike Muscala finds himself on this list is simple, he is sure to be available this summer and isn't going to get a ton of interest from anywhere else. If that doesn't seem like a good enough reason to sign a player, then the Suns made this low bar for themselves when they committed over $150 million next season alone to Booker, Durant and Beal.

Muscala might have some similar skills - or lack of - to Bol in that he is not a good defender and as a big his best attribute is shooting. That is true, but were the pair differ is with the fact Muscala has knocked around the NBA for a decade now. In that time he has been a 37.3 percent shooter from deep as well.

You don't achieve this if you're not able to do what is required to get on the court some, and last season he appeared in 16 games for the surging Oklahoma City Thunder. This is not an exciting signing - and really if it happens then perhaps the Suns have struck out on their first 15 preferences - but would it be any worse than signing Yuta Watanabe?

He was added last summer to much fanfare given it was again for the minimum, before playing in only 29 games. By season's end he was with the Memphis Grizzlies, and now looks set to continue his career in Japan. Quite a fall from grace, whereas Muscala has been operating down at that level for years now, quietly making a living.
