4 Phoenix Suns who will definitely be back next season

The Phoenix Suns have to make changes this offseason, but these four players are going to be back for 2024-25.

2. Josh Okogie

Pushing Gordon hard for the unwanted award of "what is that Suns player actually doing while out on the court?" is Josh Okogie, and it is hard to believe he is still only 25-years-old as well. The season started off well for the player too, as he started on opening night and looked for all the world like somebody who was going to get a lot of run because of his defensive ability.

Yet when it was all said and done, Okogie appeared in 60 games - 11 of which were starts - and managed only 16 minutes of action each night. For context, the not very good Gordon saw 27.8 minutes of action during the regular season.

In the playoffs Okogie failed to make the rotation proper - and although he did appear in all four contests - he managed less than eight minutes per game. This also felt like a tactic by coach Vogel to see if he could get any sort of defensive help at all to slow down the Minnesota Timberwolves, and Okogie was not up to the challenge.

Okogie has a player option for this season, and it just makes sense for him to return to The Valley. Given the unfortunate situation the Suns find themselves in with a lack of depth, he's more likely to get a chance to prove himself again there than anywhere else in the league. Better to pick up just under $3 million to do just that, and figure out his next move a year from now.
