4 difficult questions coach Budenholzer has to solve before next season
By Luke Duffy
1. The Bradley Beal decision
By far the toughest - and most important - question for coach Budenholzer is what to do with Beal next season. Already we've argued that he should come off the bench, and put forward a pretty compelling case as to why that should happen.
Now 31-years-old and with a body that doesn't look like it's getting any healthier, the time could be upon us for Beal to be the super sixth man who destroys opposing second units. The balance of the roster could drastically improve as well, with a true point guard in Morris out there running the show each night.
That type of player was badly missed by the Suns last season, and there's no reason Beal can't be a closer anyway. Especially in the playoffs, when a guy of his talent simply can't be on the bench over a backup guard like Morris. But convincing a player making $160 million over the next three seasons to actually buy into that way of thinking is another thing entirely.
If coach Budenholzer decides that's the best thing to do and actually pulls it off, it may just be the most impressive feat of his entire tenure in The Valley. Getting this right is of huge importance though, as an unhappy Beal heading into training camp is not the first step this organization has in mind to put to bed the ugly way last season ended.
