The Phoenix Suns are going to have a G League affiliate in the Valley Suns next season, and some recognizable faces have landed on their team.

1. Emmanuel Mudiay

There are two areas of real concern for the Phoenix Suns. The first is the backup big position, which hopefully Okafor could provide even a small bit of relief for. The second and more important is undoubtedly the point guard position, as the Suns don't actually have one.

There's some nice players out there that they should be targeting - but with just the minimum to do so - there's no guarantee they'll get the floor generals who could help. Even ageing individuals like Chris Paul and Kyle Lowry - who couldn't play starters minutes - might decide to go elsewhere this summer.

Which is where Emmanuel Mudiay enters the picture. As a rookie with the Denver Nuggets, he didn't look too bad. But like Okafor his rookie season may have been his best in the league. Back in 2018-19 he averaged 14.8 points and nearly four assists per game with the New York Knicks, and his size at the position has always been appealing.

Maybe he'll never get back to the NBA, but at only 28 the Valley Suns were correct to take a chance on him. Mudiay becoming a viable Plan D if the first three options this offseason in trying to fix their point guard situation work. Thinking these three players could actually help might be a massive reach - and in some ways it is - but that's where this franchise are because of their massive salary bill.
