One of the best to ever lace them up, Kevin Durant will enter his third season with the Phoenix Suns in 2024-35. The ageing superstar has continued to impress, averaging his usual numbers during his tenure with the Suns.

While the team has not had the post season success since Durant has joined the squad, this Phoenix team is poised to make a real push for the Larry O'Brien trophy in the 2024-25 campaign. Phoenix has never won a championship and it would be a major milestone for KD to win one with this team, cementing his legacy.

Durant does not seem anywhere near close to slowing down and is happy with the Suns, however another failed season could spell a split for both parties if need be. While neither side would love that, there would definitely be conversations if the Suns do not make any leaps this season.

KD has been solid, as mentioned prior, however there are a few areas where the superstar must focus on in order to help this star studded Phoenix team climb to the top of the NBA mountain and bring home their first ever championship.

3. Become more involved on offense

Durant is arguably one of the greatest scorers of all-time, with the veteran being a certified bucket from just about anywhere on the court. The superstar has a career average of 27.3 points per game on a very solid 50.1%, showcasing how he is one of the best scorers ever.

However, much of the past season there were times where Durant was not fully utilized on the offensive end. The superstar himself even reportedly had concerns with his role on the offense, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania and Doug Haller. He struggled to find his role on the offensive end alongside Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, even though he averaged 27.1 points per game last season.

Durant was often relegated to the corner, waiting for the offensive game to come to him. KD thought the offensive system was not tailored to his strengths as an offensive talent, however with former coach Frank Vogel being replaced by Mike Budenholzer, the system will change and this could see a better utilization of KD on the offensive end.

If the superstar can play his style of game and have freedom in the offensive game as opposed to being trapped in the corner, then KD should accomplish this goal this season.
