The Phoenix Suns got lucky when they traded for Grayson Allen less than a year ago. His first season was something that many fans weren't expecting since he elevated his game and became the team's unofficial third option. Allen provided a much-needed offense and versatile defense to the Suns last season and was rewarded with a four-year, $70 million contract extension.
Allen was a worth-it replacement to the role players that the Suns lost when they traded for Kevin Durant, except Mikal Bridges (we miss him). The former Duke shooting guard had the best season in Phoenix. He averaged 13.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.0 assists, finishing in the top 10 in the Most Improved Player voting.
Even more impressive is how well he shot the basketball from long range. Allen knocked down 46.1% of his three-pointers, the best in the league during the previous campaign.
With his spectacular outing last season, Suns fans expect more from him as they try to make a run for the Larry O'Brien trophy next season.
The Suns are looking forward to another season with their Big 3 of Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal. Phoenix wants to keep the group and try to contend for a title next season and Allen's involvement is crucial to their journey. Here are the goals the two-way guard should aim to achieve next season.
