The Phoenix Suns have already had an eventful offseason, and the action hasn't even finished on the court yet. They've got a new head coach in Jordan Ott - who will be formally be unveiled to the media in the coming days - while the chatter around Kevin Durant continues to swirl.
He has likely played his last game for the Suns, and all manner of teams are putting their names out there as his next potential destination. With owner Mat Ishbia saying in the past that he would work with Durant to find his next home - which is one of the reasons he wasn't sent to the Golden State Warriors at the trade deadline - there are sure to be more twists and turns to that saga yet.
Suns fans will be delighted with return of beloved jersey.
Ishbia's time in charge hasn't gone particularly smoothly, with the last two seasons being underwhelming and leading to both Frank Vogel and Mike Budenholzer losing their jobs. Their new General Manager Brian Gregory has ties to Michigan State - the college where Ishbia was a walk-on - and so some believe he may have jumped the queue to get that job because of those links.
To combat this Ishbia has cut concession prices in Footprint Center for fans, while he has also made games free to access for people in Phoenix. These are classy touches that do mean a lot, and the franchise isn't done yet. They might not be able to control just how well the team players on the court, but what they can do is bring back a beloved jersey that evokes memories of happier times.

Although the above is not confirmed, the X account @SunsUniTracker is generally on the money with what the Suns will be wearing and when. It would also make a lot of sense to bring the jerseys back, both because of how well they were received when they were first worn, and also as they are sure to bring in plenty in merchandise sales.
The Suns also went to NBA Finals with that kit - and although Chris Paul isn't likely to walk through the door again any time soon - bringing back that piece of nostalgia is a sneaky good offseason move. The vibes have not been high in The Valley for a while now - and while a jersey can only do so much - at least the organization didn't create something new, different and potentially awful.

This could yet be another piece in the Suns returning to those former glory days, as one of the teams who already tried to trade for Durant at the deadline are the New York Knicks. With the Suns rumored to have no interest in Karl-Anthony Towns, it is likely that Mikal Bridges would be the big name coming back in any potential deal.
The idea of pairing Booker and Bridges together again - in these jerseys no less - with young and hungry guys like Collin Gillespie, Ryan Dunn and Oso Ighodaro sure sounds like a lot more fun than what we saw last season. It is only a small step, and yet it feels like the Suns might just be finding the identity they kicked off this decade with in returning to these threads next season.
