The Giannis Antetokounmpo has finally ended after years of "will he, won't he?", and the rest of us can now get on with our lives.
For the Phoenix Suns that would appear to involve making a decision on center Mark Williams, who Shams Charania at least still believes the franchise want to bring back next season as he is eligible for an extension.
Suns have several second round picks that could interest Bucks
Phoenix might yet cross path with the Bucks this summer, and that is because they have three second round picks (including in the upcoming draft) available to them to include in future trades.
Despite their large haul of... stuff from the Miami Heat for Giannis, the Bucks are still without a second rounder to call their own, at a time when they appear to be stockpiling young players and picks in hopes of one day rising again.
So if the Suns had any interest in young center Kel'el Ware for example, and they really should, those second round picks suddenly have more value than you would think. Particularly when the front office in Phoenix have managed to secure both Toumani Camara (sigh...) and Oso Ighodaro with later selections in recent seasons.
The Bucks were rumored to be interested in Jalen Green ahead of the deadline last season, and there's no telling what the combination of both could get in return from Milwaukee. That franchise looking vulnerable as they begin life without their franchise cornerstone.
Even if the two never get to the negotiating table over second rounders, the fact the Suns have any at all after the Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal trades is a minor miracle. They don't have possession of their own picks in 2027 and 2028, before getting back on the board in 2029.
A lot can change for both teams between now and then, but you can be sure any future deals the Suns get involved in will likely include second rounders going in one direction or another. These picks won't be enough to get Josh Giddey to The Valley, although they might have been if not for Julius Randle also being moved.
But they still could come in handy, and if the Suns do decide to go big star hunting again in future, attaching three of them plus a couple of first round selections and a player or two will surely get them in the door of most conversations. Maybe even with Milwaukee.
