Kevin Durant's Rockets tenure is ending the same way as his time with the Suns

Not good.

We know what you're thinking. Stop worrying about Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockers, when the Phoenix Suns are still in the playoffs themselves.

Down 0-3 against the Oklahoma City Thunder though, we all know how that is going to end. Besides, what is happening with Durant right now is just so interesting.

Durant's time in Houston is going to end like it did in Phoenix

The Rockets are also staring down elimination against the short-handed Los Angeles Lakers, with Durant failing to even sit on the bench for their overtime loss in Game 3.

An ankle issue the reason why, although quite how he couldn't rehab around the game as countless others have done in the past is unclear.

But with Durant now not suiting up for Game 4, has come with it the final nail in the coffin that sounds an awful lot like his final days in The Valley.

If you ask Durant's teammates, they're unsure what is going on with him or how he is feeling right now, with all of his rehab coming away from the team.

Again if this was a different player it would be less of a story, but that breakdown in communication was exactly what happened when he was with the Suns.

That team failed to make the play-in and then Durant was gone, ultimately never to come back. The key difference this time round however, is who would even want him?

The Rockets were easily able to talk themselves into the 37-year-old being the missing piece, and that has backfired tremendously.

He is supposed to be good friends with head coach Ime Udoka, only how he has acted since this series began he has appeared to be anything but.

The Suns now look like the last franchise that were able to get anything of real value back for Durant's services, it is why we confidently said that they officially won the trade.

But for a guy who so clearly cares about his legacy, his actions in the last couple of years have only made fans realize how good he actually had it with the Golden State Warriors.

You don't trade for an offensive superstar only to watch him clog up the scoring and then fail to appear when a sweep is on the cards.

Only that's exactly what is unfolding in front of us, with this breakdown in communication one of the final steps before an inevitable split.
