The Phoenix Suns' 2024-25 season is finally over, and now the real fun can begin. Of every organization in the league today, none have more on the line this summer when it comes to trying to right the ship. Unfortunately for the franchise, they also don't have the cap flexibility or draft picks in order to do so.

One of the first orders of business looks to be letting General Manager James Jones walk, but he is likely to only be the first domino to fall in Phoenix. Head coach Mike Budenholzer is on the hot seat - and although the team definitely doesn't want to lose Devin Booker - the only guarantee at this moment sadly is that Bradley Beal is going nowhere.

Kevin Durant may just have given an update on his future.

Then there is 36-year-old Durant, the most likely of the trio of stars the Suns have to be moved. He hasn't been seen since spraining his ankle right when the team needed him the most to push for the play-in. Sunday's final regular season outing against the Sacramento Kings not featuring Durant, Booker or Beal, so we may well have seen Durant's last action in a Suns' uniform.

Both before and during that final game versus the Kings, Durant was active - as he so often is - on social media. He's got no problem going at it with fans - and if you take a quick look through his replies on X - then you'll notice he's kind of getting fed up with Suns' fans. To be fair - with how much he has to put up with compared to all he's done on the court - it's hard not to side with him.

But it was the above response that was the most intriguing, because there didn't appear to be any annoyance in Durant's response. Trolls spend so much time trying to get a reaction out of Durant in order to share it with everybody, but the user @camthescientist didn't take that tone. Instead he said it like it was, and pointed out that the Suns have to change and Durant leaving is the only next step.

Could Durant's one-word response be viewed as sarcasm? Of course, this is Durant we're talking about. But something about that hand shake emoji - again in response to somebody who was in no way having a go at Durant and all he's done since landing in The Valley - means this is one that has to be taken more seriously.

Especially when compared to responses like this one, which is practically dripping in sarcasm. Then again - any time you're having a conversation with "Mr. Phoenix" while they talk about themselves in the third person - you know it is not exactly the most serious of interactions.

We can't say that this is the most serious evidence yet that Durant is gone this summer, and that he's also cool with it. But given the franchise tried to move him at the deadline, this was the most likely outcome this offseason anyway. The hard conversation will be when it comes to deciding what to do with Booker. Unlike Durant, he won't be speaking with strangers on the internet about it.
