The Phoenix Suns went above .500 with a win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday, with Grayson Allen having a career night. He put together a monster 42 point performances, with the 10 3-pointers he made a franchise record. The previous holder at nine makes? That was also Allen - he had achieved this three times in Phoenix - alongside a host of other players.
The fact that the 30-year-old managed to achieve this in light of Jalen Green going down with another hamstring injury was not lost on the fanbase in The Valley. If anything, history is repeating itself as Allen once admirably stepped in when Bradley Beal was also sitting. He's not quite getting the same help from his new teammates with the L.A. Clippers right now either.
Allen's trade value has hit an all-time high with Suns.
It should come as no surprise then that Allen's trade value has never been higher since landing in Phoenix, and the fact he's the second longest tenured player after Devin Booker on the roster is a reminder that he was the best player in the Deandre Ayton for Jusuf Nurkic trade. That deal set the Suns back, but they've even managed to fix that with the addition of center Mark Williams.

Back to Allen and we're now reaching the point where the Suns could even get a first round pick in return for his services. It is not just the fact he has once again stepped up when called upon - starting every game so far this season - it is the way in which he can be an elite offensive role player who is money from deep.
Allen has led the entire league in 3-point shooting before at 46.1 percent, so we know the 44.7 he's managed so far this season is not a flash in the pan either. What has changed is the fact he's shooting nearly double the amount of bombs, yet he's making nearly as many as his first season with the Suns.
Head coach Jordan Ott deserves a mention at this point, because his defensive schemes have suited Allen's game as well. He's not a minus defender, but he's also not known for locking down opponents. But thanks to coach Ott's insistence that smaller wings such as Allen and Royce O'Neale can and will guard bigs such as Victor Wembanyama, he hasn't been a negative on that end either.
Then there is the fact he's got two years remaining on his current deal after this one, although that final season is a player option. So any rival franchise interested in acquiring him will know they have him for a couple of seasons, ideal if you're a fringe contender looking to upgrade your rotation for the playoffs.
Allen will never make more than $20 million in a season throughout his current deal, while he appears to be in his prime as well. The only issue here is that he may be worth more to the Suns than anybody else, while they also don't have an incentive to lose games thanks to some awful trades to land stars in the past. Yes Grayson Allen's trade value has never been higher, but why trade him?
