The regular season games may be coming thick and fast for the Phoenix Suns, but their G League affiliate in the Valley Suns (nice name) will begin their own campaign later this week. In yet another boost to the fanbase in Phoenix, all games will be shown on Arizona's Family Sports. Being able to access all Suns/Mercury games one of the greatest gifts owner Mat Ishbia has given the fans.
Ahead of their season tipping off, the Valley Suns have announced who will be joining the sidelines as an analyst, and it is a surprising name that will be familiar. Despite many people not even realizing he had officially retired, former Western Conference Champion Frank Kaminsky will be there to break the games down each night.
Kaminsky will excel in new role in The Valley.
Kaminsky achieved a kind of cult status in his time with the Suns - and although he doesn't quite make this illustrious list despite having the nickname "Frank The Tank" - he will be welcomed back with open arms. It will also be interesting to see how quickly he adapts to the role, and if it could mean eventually moving up to cover the Suns as well.

This unexpected career turn also got us thinking; who would be some of the best current players on the roster at entering into the world of the media once they retire? Devin Booker is the obvious choice simply because fans want him to stick around forever in any capacity, but he's not going to be stuck for the dollars when he does finally call it a career. So he's not likely to be interested.
Grayson Allen would be an interesting one - and although he isn't known for being particularly excitable when speaking to the media - that kind of measured approach could actually work. If anything Kaminsky is surely going to approach the role the same way, so we'll give Allen the benefit of the doubt here.
Collin Gillespie is another you could see in a pinstriped suit with microphone in hand, although it feels like point guards are always just naturally assumed to be good at breaking the game down. The real wildcard here - and one we'd love to see - is Dillon Brooks. Although his style might be more suited to the national media, as you know his takes would be hot and he'd back down from nobody.
Going back through the history of the organization and Steve Nash obviously has experience as he's now on NBC, while everybody loves it when Kevin Durant talks ball. Charles Barkley is one of the best to ever do it - and he appears alongside another Sun in Shaquille O'Neal - proving that actually this is one organization with a rich history of media personalities and analysts. Kaminsky got next.
