The Phoenix Suns continue to be one of the NBA’s feel-good stories in 2025-26.

They’ve shattered preseason expectations by playing themselves into the Western Conference playoff picture. Devin Booker is thriving as the primary star, even if he is currently sidelined with an ankle issue.

Collin Gillespie is in the midst of a breakout season, while acquisitions Mark Williams and Dillon Brooks help shape a defensive turnaround.

But will any Suns player make the All-Star team this year?

As it stands, Booker seems the only player in The Valley with a legitimate chance of being named to the NBA All-Star reserves. ESPN writers Zach Kram and Tim Bontemps wrote that Book is “on the bubble” to earn his fifth All-Star selection, but The Ringer’s Bill Simmons tabbed the Suns’ all-time leading scorer to get in.

He’s one of the few NBA analysts who’ve selected Book to make the squad this year, but someone else at The Ringer who’s a familiar face to Suns fans also gave Booker the nod.

Former Suns guard Raja Bell picks Devin Booker as an All-Star

Among the hosts of The Ringer’s “Real Ones” podcast, only one selected Booker to make his All-Star reserves.

Former Suns guard Raja Bell listed Book among his Western Conference reserves, while colleagues Logan Murdock and Howard Beck each snubbed the Suns’ star from their lists, which was posted to Instagram.

Bell was a fan favorite during his three-plus seasons in Phoenix as a defensive stalwart on the perimeter. He earned Defensive Player of the Year votes during every season in which he wore a Suns uniform, making the All-Defensive First Team and All-Defensive Second Team as well.

If the talking heads are any indication, Book is a tossup to be named to his fifth All-Star team. He’s no doubt deserving, given how Phoenix has performed this season, but the talent level across the league now is so elite that Book is now on the fringes of earning that nod.

Excluding 1999, when there was no NBA All-Star Game due to a player lockout, the last time the Suns had a playoff-bound squad with no All-Stars was 1996-97.

That team snuck into the playoffs despite finishing two games under .500 at 40-42.

From a record standpoint, this year’s Suns squad is clearly superior, which is why it would be so odd for this year’s team to not have an All-Star representing them.

According to Simmons and Bell, Booker should be in, but there are plenty of other NBA analysts and writers who haven’t given Book the same level of recognition.

NBA All-Star reserves will be officially announced on Feb. 1.
