At this point we assume you are well versed in the long-standing beef between Dillon Brooks and LeBron James. A back and forth that flared up again in the recent meeting between the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers.

Brooks was ejected for getting in LeBron's face after an aggressive close-out on a 3-point effort, although James failed to get even a technical for putting his hands on a referee earlier in the game.

That game, which the Lakers won by two points, also served us the unthinkable. Brooks being cast in the role of a hero against the villainous James, most likely for one night only.

Brooks lays into LeBron in calling him a social media junkie.

The 29-year-old was speaking to media ahead of the Suns' upcoming meeting with the Golden State Warriors, and you just knew James was going to get brought up. The response? Savage stuff.

It would be fair to say that James throughout his career has carefully maintained an image and has always appeared to be very conscious of what goes on social media where he is concerned.

It is why he could be seen with "The Godfather" book by his side during the playoffs back in the day for example, and who could forget taking to X to claim Bronny James was better than some players in the league while he was still in college.

The point is, Brooks might actually be right on this, but pointing it out to the media is surely not something James is going to take well.

We've said it before, not since Lance Stephenson has an opponent found a way to get under the skin of LeBron with such effective regularity. It will be interesting to see how he responds, if he even cares to.

For those who might argue that Brooks is better than all of this now, that he was trying to make a name for himself in the past going at "The King" and that it is no longer necessary, you're probably right.

But the Suns needed somebody to come in and change the culture and care about regular season games and going at the elite players in this league. LeBron is still that, and it is not like Suns and Lakers fans are best friends as well.

This is the kind of attitude that will have contenders enquiring about Brooks soon, a reality the Suns are going to have to contend with soon.
