The Phoenix Suns have confounded a lot of their critics in the early goings of the season, and Devin Booker has been a large part of the reason why.
The 29-year-old superstar returning to All-NBA level, and he's achieved this while being asked to be the offensive hub nightly for his team. That workload was always going to lead dips in productivity for the player, which is what we have seen across the last number of games.
Booker's drop in performance was always going to happen.
Which is why the Suns shouldn't be concerned by how the last few games have unfolded for Booker. In the month of November he has averaged four turnovers per game, which is now on par with his season average. A worrying development, but ultimately not a surprising one.
i think Devin Booker’s offensive struggles are due to Grayson Allen being out & defenses are sending more doubles at Book.

also that’s no excuse for Book to be missing from almost everywhere.
Grayson’s shooting is being missed the most by Book rn
Backup point guard Collin Gillespie has performed admirably, but he doesn't always share the court with Booker and so can't help as much in that regard. A pair of players who should be out there with him are Jalen Green and Grayson Allen, but that has not been the case recently.
Allen having missed five straight with swelling of his left thigh, and so far this season he has been an excellent secondary creator. He's also turning in another elite 3-point shooting season, which is both raising his trade stock but also acts as a release valve for Booker when the pair play together.
The shot-making ability of Allen is capable of getting the Suns out of trouble on certain possessions, and without that Booker has had to do more. He's also been tasked with leading the way with scoring, which he's currently accomplishing at 26.4 each night.
Dillon Brooks has done his bit to try and be the second best player in The Valley, but on some nights that is going to lead to more impact defensively while on yet more occasions his shot isn't going to fall or he will take too many.
There's no world in which he should be attempting more shots than Booker, yet that has happened on occasion this season. He also needs the help, which is what Green was supposed to be brought in to do.
So while Booker is managing only 25 points in November, while also converting on a poor 25 percent of shots from deep, these dips in performance are going to happen when he is being asked to do it all. He'll be back to his best soon, and fans will be reminded they had nothing to worry about.
