2. Suns snag 2 key pieces as Raptors rebuild

The Toronto Raptors are quickly approaching a crossroads. Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby, and Gary Trent Jr. can all become unrestricted free agents in the summer of 2024. Can the Raptors bring them back or are they facing a total rebuild? Toronto missed the playoffs last season and lost Fred VanVleet in free agency.

The Raptors could be sellers at the deadline, which would create an opportunity for the Suns. Does Phoenix go all-in to try to pry a couple of quality rotation pieces from Toronto? Dennis Schroder might be attainable if the Suns are willing to part with all five second-rounders.

There are questions about going from Jusuf Nurkic to Chris Boucher, but the advanced metrics are favorable for the current Raptors big man. He has shown rim-protecting and shooting potential. Can Boucher put it all together in Phoenix? If not, the Suns could use Drew Eubanks as their center in the playoffs.

Dennis Schroder would be a massive upgrade for the Suns and instantly becomes their fourth-best player. He starts next to their Big 3 with Eubanks or Grayson Allen rounding out the group. Kevin Durant figures to play some five in the playoffs, and Schroder makes that unit even more dangerous.

The Phoenix Suns have a ton of offense and would love to add a perimeter stopper to round out their roster. One just might be available before the deadline.
