2. Clint Capela
The Suns need a center that could affect them on both ends of the floor, and Clint Capela could answer their question. He’s a premier double-double machine for the Atlanta Hawks, who can provide plenty on the defensive end.
The downside is that he can’t stretch the defense since he isn’t a perimeter shooter. He’s still a threat in the pick and roll, and the Big 3 can use that to take advantage of the defenses.
NBA Insider Marc Stein has also hinted at the idea of the Hawks trading Capela soon. The Suns aren’t in the mix, but stranger things have happened in the NBA.
"“The Mavericks don’t want to be done. Maybe they are done with this roster because further moves are not available to them.” Stein reported. “They would love if the chance to make another trade run at Clint Capela from the Atlanta Hawks materializes to this point. That opportunity has not availed itself to the Mavericks. But will Atlanta move Capela elsewhere which creates an opportunity for Dallas to try to get in as a third team? Or would they trade him somewhere to a team that really only needs him for contract purposes, salary cap matching purposes in the trade and then that team makes Capela available?”"
Capela is averaging 10.7 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks this season for Atlanta.
