Suns Trade Details

In this scenario, the Phoenix Suns are trading with two other teams in a three-team trade. The Suns, though, are getting the best part of the trade. The trade scenario is between them, the Toronto Raptors, and the Chicago Bulls.

The Suns would be getting point guard Alex Caruso from the Bulls and Otto Porter Jr. from the Raptors. This wouldn’t be a huge cap impact, either, as this adds $585 thousand to the cap number more than if they wouldn’t make this trade.

Caruso gives the Suns more defense, which is always good, and that actual point guard in the starting rotation that the Suns so desperately need. Sure, maybe not desperately, depending on your opinion, but having someone who can be a starting point guard will only help relieve Devin Booker and play the position and role he has played his entire career. Oh, and Caruso isn’t a bad spot-up shooter.

Otto Porter Jr. is a wing defender who can also spot up, but not only that, he makes the right decisions. You don’t see that often. He is a veteran that gives the Suns experience, length, and depth. Look at how he was two years ago for the Warriors when they won the title. He was amazing. The Suns were a guy like that.

Oh, and both of these guys have won a championship before.
