4. Jordan Goodwin

Goodwin has a unique opportunity in Phoenix as the only true point guard on their roster. The 6’3 guard will come off the bench to start the season, but his playmaking ability could lead to additional minutes. The Suns plan on letting Devin Booker and Bradley Beal split the duties in the first unit, but every other Big 3 had a point guard. Can Goodwin fill that role?

The 25-year-old has a close relationship with Bradley Beal. They played two years in Washington D.C. together, but their bond goes back to Goodwin’s AAU days when he played for Beal’s team and both are from St. Louis. As long as the Phoenix Suns have Beal, there will be interest in Goodwin.

The 6’3 guard was a reserve for the Wizards last season, but can he take another step forward on his new team? Goodwin went undrafted in 2021 and still has plenty to prove. There will be opportunities to lockdown a larger role in Phoenix this season, but Goodwin must take advantage.

His defense, playmaking, and jumper must improve if Jordan Goodwin wants more run. The Suns do not have time to waste. If he is not ready on opening night, Phoenix has to play someone who is. It is an important year for the 6’3 guard, especially if he wants to stay with the franchise long-term.
