The Phoenix Suns have been a good basketball team for the last three or four years now. They have been one of the more successful franchises in NBA history despite having never won an NBA Championship.
The Suns, though, have been the only real successful franchise in Arizona for some time now, a few years at least. That is when you don’t count collegiate sports. The two major Division One college teams in the state have had their own success, but the Arizona Cardinals have been bad now for the last year and haven’t made the playoffs in a while. The Diamondbacks have been bad for a long time, while the Coyotes are a team discussing relocating in its sport.
The Suns have been the team in Arizona for a minute now. However, the Diamondbacks are finally making some noise of their own, as they are in the playoffs for the first time since 2017. The people of Arizona love their sports, though. Suns fans, most of them love the Diamondbacks.
So, everyone is rooting for the other team that is now playing in October, even head coach Frank Vogel.
“I met Tony this summer, and I’m a big fan of his approach and him as a person, and I could not be more happy for him,” Vogel said at a training camp practice. “I just love his postgame speech. That’s, it’s just, it was awesome, an awesome moment and, bring on the Dodgers. Let’s go, Diamondbacks.”
It seems like coach Frank Vogel is already fitting in perfectly. And, to make matters even better, he is rooting against the Los Angeles Dodgers, which is only fitting because they are the Diamondback’s rivals, as the Los Angeles Lakers are the Phoenix Suns’ rival.
Not to mention, he just won a championship in Los Angeles for the Lakers. So, it’s safe to say he is really fitting in.
