3. Grayson Allen

In what is perhaps a worrying sign, Allen is the only player from the Ayton deal to appear on this list. Nassir Little intrigues, but he has not done enough in the league to make himself an actual asset for this team. Nurkic had been available for the longest time before being dealt by the Portland Trail Blazers, while Keon Johnson may not even make this Suns roster.

Allen though is a known commodity, and he can do one thing that every contender can’t get enough of. Shoot the lights out. In five seasons in the league, Allen has shot a shade below 40 percent from 3-point range, on 5.5 attempts per night.

He’s also played next to Giannis Antetokounmpo with the Milwaukee Bucks, and so knows how to co-exist in an ecosystem dominated by one of the best talents the league has ever seen. Allen is going to have no problem spotting up around Durant and Booker, while on the defensive end he is going to be… a problem for opponents.

Allen has a reputation as a dirty player – and whatever your thoughts on that – he is one of those guys that you love to root against, but also love having on your team in a tense playoff battle. Allen will be 28-years-old on October 8th, and is making just over $8 million this season before hitting the open market next summer. Plenty of teams would be interested in that rental.
