The trade that was ready to break the internet finally happened, but it wasn’t with the Miami Heat. Instead, the Portland Trail Blazers traded Damian Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks, and the Phoenix Suns got involved, too, shipping out Deandre Ayton.
In the deal, Phoenix shipped out Ayton and rookie Toumani Camara and got back Jusuf Nurkic, Nassir Little, Grayson Allen, and Keon Johnson, giving them some solid depth.
However, while their current roster looks nice, there could still be some room for improvement. With new salaries on the books, the Suns could potentially look to upgrade their bench a bit more.
With that in mind, here are three trades the Suns could look into now that Ayton is gone, and they have some wiggle room.
3 Trades the Suns can still make after trading Deandre Ayton: Buddy Hield
Recent reports have indicated that the Indiana Pacers could seek a trade for Buddy Hield after the two sides were unable to come to an agreement on a contract extension.
This could give the Suns the perfect opening to pair Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, and Bradley Beal with one of the most lethal three-point shooters in the NBA.
Adding Hield would give the Suns’ offense yet another threat to work with, as he would have more space to roam the three-point line than he’s had on any team he’s been a part of.
For Indiana, getting Grayson Allen back gives them a decent replacement in terms of shooting, but the real prize in the deal would be Nassir Little.
The Pacers have been reportedly looking to add a defensive-minded wing all summer, and while Little isn’t quite on the level of OG Anunoby, he has the potential to be a great 3-and-D guy for years to come.
