It wasn’t that long ago that the most skilled scorer of all time, Kevin Durant, was on the floor during the NBA Finals, holding the area just above the back of his ankle. The then Golden State Warriors superstar, and now Phoenix Suns’ superstar, has had his fair share of injuries.

The torn Achilles is by far the worst. On Monday, we witnessed another sports legend have the same injury.

That injury changed Durant’s career. He didn’t have many injuries before that; he has dealt with a few different ones since then. Achilles injuries can be the injury that ends a guy’s career. We saw Kobe Bryant’s career change drastically when he tore his Achilles and the same with Klay Thompson.

Durant, while his game hasn’t skipped a beat or missed a step, has still been affected by the injury. He has missed a ton of time during the prime of his career because of that injury.

We will likely see the New York Jets quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, miss a lot of time, too. On his fourth snap during his debut with the Jets, Rodgers was sacked, and you could tell that something was wrong. His calf popped, and when he got up, he had to be helped off of the field.

Rodgers, who is 39 years old, will be out for the rest of the season and will likely have a moment when he thinks about retiring. When the moment happened, Durant tweeted his reaction.

“I’m so sick right now. Get well soon 8…”

Durant empathizes with Rodgers because if anyone knows how that feels, Durant does. You hope nothing but the best for Rodgers, even though he doesn’t play for the Suns or basketball.

As for Durant, let’s hope he doesn’t have to go through that again. No one does, really.
