Areas Bradley Beal must improve for Suns to be title contender

Addressing depth concerns

While not directly related to Beal’s individual performance, the Suns’ depth is a concern that must be addressed. The astronomical salaries committed to Booker, Durant, Deandre Ayton, and Beal leave little room for building a competent bench unit. Beal’s leadership and willingness to work with younger players and veterans on minimal deals will be essential in building a cohesive unit.

Defense: A return to form

Beal’s defense has been “indifferent” in recent years, struggling with consistency and effort. However, there’s hope that in the right environment, surrounded by quality defenders, Beal’s defensive desire could return to the level he showed during Washington’s playoff runs in 2015 and 2017.

The Suns’ coaching staff, led by Vogel, will need to focus on rekindling Beal’s defensive prowess. The psychological aspect of motivation and accountability will be key here, as Beal must buy into the team’s defensive philosophy and recognize his role in achieving the ultimate goal: a championship.
