3 players the Phoenix Suns should avoid in free agency.

1. Derrick Rose

Derrick Rose frequently tops NBA fans’ lists for, “players you most want to see win a championship.” For that reason, many have clamored for the Suns to sign the once-superstar to give him that chance.

Rose had reinvented himself as a solid role player and prior to last year, would have genuinely helped this Suns team. Unfortunately, last season was the worst year of Rose’s career. He put up career lows across the board, scoring just 5.6 points per game in under 13 minutes, and he wasn’t even in the New York Knicks’ playoff rotation.

If Rose somehow was able to bounce back he’d be an ideal fit, as he’s profiled as an extremely efficient bench guard during the twilight of his career, but there’s too much working against a rebound season for him.

Rose will be 35-years-old heading into this season and has an extensive injury history to boot. There’s just too many red flags here for the Suns to take that chance. This is a case of a nearly fit, but the timing is just off and Rose is a player the organization should give a miss.
