With the NBA’s free agency just days away from officially beginning and quite a few roster spots to fill, the Phoenix Suns will certainly be active in the market. Some of these open roster spots are likely to be filled by re-signing several of their own players, such as Jock Landale and Torrey Craig, but there will be some new faces as well.

The organization are leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to round out their roster, with overseas players and G League warriors such as Quinndary Weatherspoon and Stanley Johnson being brought in for a workout this week.

With Bradley Beal and his supermax contract now in the Valley, the Suns will be operating as a second apron team. They won’t have any exceptions to use, so the only way they can sign outside free agents is through the veteran minimum.

Luckily for the Suns, that’s looking to be a robust market, as much of the league’s top contenders find themselves in similarly cash-strapped and restricted positions. A lot of good players will be forced to sign for less if they intend to compete for a championship, and the Suns will be at the front of the line for those ring chasers.
