3 contenders that should pursue Chris Paul in free agency.

1. Los Angeles Lakers

It almost seems like a lock for Paul to join the Los Angeles Lakers at this point if he doesn’t end up re-signing with the Suns. Not only would this allow Paul to continue pushing for the ring that he so desperately wants, but he’d also be playing with his good buddy LeBron James.

This wouldn’t be the first time that Paul was rumored to play with the Lakers. We all know about the infamous vetoed trade that would have sent Paul to Los Angeles to play with Kobe Bryant. However, now it seems like Paul could finally wear the purple and gold. Except this time, it would be to join James and Anthony Davis as they all push for another ring on their resume.

Adding Paul to this Lakers team would be such an incredibly fun tandem to watch. Not only would he be better than any point guard they’ve had since James and Davis joined the Lakers, but he also has chemistry with members of the team.

Gone could the days be of Dennis Schroeder and D’Angelo Russell. These two are solid, but wildly inconsistent. While again, Paul isn’t what he used to be, he’s still better than those guys by a decent margin.

Hopefully, if Paul signs with the Lakers, he can finally get the ring he’s been chasing for years now. If he, James, and Davis can remain healthy, it’s tough to imagine many teams taking them down in a seven game series come playoff time.
