The Phoenix Suns will welcome Kevin Durant back into the lineup on Wednesday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves, a good sign for the team’s playoff potential.

Phoenix is 3-0 with Durant this season, with two of those wins coming by 14 or more points.

However, the Timberwolves come into this game on a hot streak, winning four straight to move into the No. 7 seed in the West. They had the edge on the Golden State Warriors for the No. 6 seed until the Warriors won on Tuesday night against New Orleans.

Phoenix is favored in this game, as it should be without Durant in the lineup.

Let’s examine the odds and a best bet for this matchup:

Timberwolves vs. Suns odds, spread and total

Timberwolves vs. Suns prediction and pick

The Suns have been solid this season as home favorites, going 16-11-1 against the spread.

With Durant back in the lineup, Phoenix has arguably the most potent offense in the NBA. The team scored 125 and 130 points in the last two games that Durant played in, and Devin Booker has thrived in three games alongside KD.

The Wolves are expected to have Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns in the lineup, as both are listed as probable for this matchup, but I think Phoenix is the side to back.

Minnesota has been average as a road underdog, going 13-13 against the spread, and this seems like too few points to give the Suns if Durant is able to handle a fairly normal workload.

I don’t mind taking the OVER in this game with both teams loaded with offensive firepower, but I prefer the Suns to cover as my best bet.
