The Phoenix Suns did it, they built a super team, that’s what every team in the NBA wants and they were able to pull it off. Yet, it’ll be a while before we see it. Kevin Durant is still out with his injury and Devin Booker is day-to-day.

Neither played Thursday night against the Hawks in Atlanta and the Suns lost, 116-107. Josh Okogie had 25 points off the bench and Deandre Ayton had 23, but it wasn’t enough. The Suns let Trae Young go off for 36 points and 12 assists and tonight, they’ll have to deal with another star point guard when they face the Indiana Pacers.

The Pacers and Tyrese Haliburton are 25-31 and have lost their last two, but they’ve been doing a bit more winning and a lot more covering since Haliburton returned to the lineup. Here are the odds for the Suns and Pacers in Indiana.

Suns vs. Pacers odds, spread and total

Suns vs. Pacers prediction and pick

Phoenix is a banged up team with title aspirations that is currently relying on Deandre Ayton and a 37-year-old Chris Paul on the second night of a back-to-back. Phoenix is going to make up ground in the Western Conference once they get KD and Booker back on the floor, but for now, they’re a team that shed a lot of their depth and is without a true scorer. Paul is only averaging 13.7 points a game and Ayton is at 18.5, even Cameron Payne and Landry Shamet, their next leading scorers are out with injury.

In their last five games, the Suns are 26th in offensive rating, and surprisingly, the Pacers with Haliburton back for four of those five games is 27th. The under is 4-1 in those last five games for Indiana and that’s my best play in this game.
