3. Mikal Bridges
Second successive game where he’s done a terrific job on an opposing star — kept Paul George to 16 on Sunday and Stephen Curry to 21 here, both players well below their averages. In particular, kudos on his ability to bypass screens and get into passing lanes for steals, rather than directly tracking Curry on the perimeter.
Thought he went under-the-radar offensively, with the majority of his points coming in the general flow of the offense. An extremely efficient night, recording 17 points, six rebounds and two assists on 7-for-8 shooting.
2. Chris Paul
Fantastic to see him return to some of his best in such a high profile game. Set the tone early by knocking down his first three — a very welcome sign after he went 1-for-8 against the Clippers. Paul ended with 16 points on 4-for-5 shooting from deep, looking every bit the All-NBA calibre point-guard we’ve seen in his first two years with the Suns. The Warriors defense in the pick-and-roll was really poor, allowing him to find Ayton and Landale repeatedly to finish with nine assists.
1. Devin Booker
Won the superstar matchup with Curry in a decisive result, although it was his verbal battle with Thompson that was highly publicised. Another prolific first half with 16 points, while his improved defense continues to go underrated. The Thompson stoush threatened to derail him for a small stretch in the third, but he put it behind him and provided the finishing touches on another bulletproof performance — 34 points, seven assists and three steals on 10-for-19 shooting.
