Damion Lee’s career has been full of ups-and-downs, but in credit to the 29-year-old, he’s now carved out a role as a bonafide NBA player. After reaching the pinnacle and winning a championship with the Golden State Warriors in 2022, Lee’s focus now turns to replicating the success at the Phoenix Suns.
Lee’s a solid role player who, at his best, can give you 20 minutes a night or fill in for a more expansive role if required. Phoenix view him as such, with Lee now needing to deliver on the faith the franchise has shown in him.
Shooting-guard Damion Lee will be looking to hit the ground running as he enters a new chapter of his career at the Phoenix Suns.
A competitive and tough wing, Lee can provide the Suns with a diverse all-around game without being elite in any one skill. His ability to fight defensively, rebound, shoot and cut off-ball means he can fit into certain lineups more so than some of Phoenix’s other wing options.

His main competitor for regular minutes is Landry Shamet, a pure shooter who Lee provides a little more versatility than. They’ll likely see regular minutes together, provided both can hold up defensively.
Shamet is also a potential trade candidate should Phoenix want to upgrade their roster, therefore statistical averages for Lee should take this possibility into account.
Overall, he should replicate similar numbers to what he produced with the Warriors last season. An uptick in three-point percentage will be crucial to maintaining regular minutes, with further opportunities arising should he return to the 39.7% he shot from deep in 2020-21.
