Phoenix Suns Guard Damion Lee’s Weaknesses

Damion Lee has the most NBA experience out of the bunch, but he is also the oldest at 29 years old. His first five years in the league resemble a fair sample size of what we can expect out of him.

Lee’s shooting numbers fluctuate a bit, but he does have two seasons of shooting 39 percent from the three under his belt. Last season, his stock took a major hit with Jordan Poole and Jonathan Kuminga’s rise.

The Warriors simply did not need Lee anymore and consequentially allowed him to walk this offseason. So what made him replaceable?

In my opinion, Lee’s issue is his confidence. Last season, his shooting numbers were down across the board (both 2-pointers and 3-pointers). This is troublesome with the Warriors being a much better team this previous season compared to the one before it.

Those struggles make you wonder if he thrives in low pressure situations and underperforms in high pressure situations.

The Suns hope to compete for a title next year and I am unsure if Lee will move the needle on that. Suns fans will have to hope that with more opportunities he will shine as a shooter off the bench.
