Phoenix Suns Summer League Players to Watch: Ahmad Caver
Ahmad Caver saw some time at the NBA level last year when the league experienced its COVID-19 outbreak, but has spent most of his day since leaving Old Dominion in 2019 at the G-League level with the Memphis Grizzlies.
Although he remains a long shot to make Phoenix’s 2022-23 roster or even secure one of the team’s two-way slots, he seems destined to become a fan favorite this summer. He possesses a solid handle on the rock and despite being just six-foot-two, he’s got enough bounce to rise up and punish the rim.
GET UP, AHMAD CAVER! 🤯🔥

But even with all that offensive explosiveness, Caver always keeps an extra eye out for his teammates. Beside his dunks, Caver drew attention last year at the G-League level for his creative passing skills.
He obviously does not possess the raw athleticism that he did in his early days with the Oklahoma City Thunder, but Caver’s skillset and play style eerily mirror that of a young Russell Westbrook. For summer time basketball, Suns fans could do a whole lot worse.
